January 19th is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a nationally recognized day of service. The day is annually very popular for volunteers to engage in one-day service projects, but this year it is especially popular. Falling the day before the Presidential inauguration, President-elect Obama has called upon all Americans to make their day off, a day ON and to engage in service on January 19th.
The Center is planning a number of projects and events for schools, volunteer groups, and companies. We are still in need of a few volunteer projects, and we're bound to have more requests for projects as we get closer to the day.
Please let us know if you have a project for any time and for any group size on January 19th.
We appreciate all you do!
